| Liebe Freunden, dear friends, chers amis, queridos amigos, дорогие друэя, On behalf of ICCF Zone 1 Europe, I welcome the President, ICCF officials, National Delegates and accompanying person, with a special welcome for those who have come to Europe from other continents. The ICCF family, three years after the Ostrava Congress, is meeting again in Europe. And, ten years after the Bad Neuenahr Congress, we’re meeting again in Germany, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Deutsche Fernschachbund. BdF has always been one of the pillars of ICCF, with many thousands of members and also many distinguished officials, amongst whom I would like to remember our late president Werner von Massow and his wife Bertl. Ich bin sicher, daß uns ein wunderbarer Kongreß erwartet und daβ die Teilnehmer mit besten Erinnerungen an Dresden und die Organisation heimkehren werden. This ICCF Congress will be very important for our future. My aim and my wish is that it will be a peaceful and fruitful congress, in the spirit of AMICI SUMUS.
